Context of Utilitarianism

An introduction to the context of utilitarianism, including what it is, how it influenced utilitarianism, and why it's important. This lesson considers how the development of classical utilitarianism, negative utilitarianism, and preference utilitarianism was influenced by a specific context in each case (i.e. the Bloody Code, World War II, and intensive animal farming), and how key thinkers evolved this normative ethical theory to address different issues.
